As an intern you will do analysis and/or modelling work that is directly relevant for Quintel’s mission. Depending on your background and skills, you’ll be oriented more toward supporting our Consulting team or our Modelling & Development team. You’ll work closely with our advisors and/or modellers on activities such as:
Oriented towards analysis:
- Research the latest developments in the production of synthetic fuels
- Determine how to translate national energy scenarios to provinces or municipalities
- Determine how to align definitions used in the ETM with (inter)national standards
- Compare tools currently used to explore solutions to grid congestion
Oriented towards modelling:
- Investigate options to improve cost calculations in the ETM
- Create a tool that simulates the heat flow of an industrial site
- Create a tool to perform a sensitivity analysis on the ETM
- Identify improvements for the data processing pipeline of the ETM
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for an intern to work with our team, for 32 – 40 hours a week. Furthermore, you…
- Are currently pursuing a master’s degree in a relevant field, such as physics, energy sciences, chemistry, mathematics or systems engineering
- Are proficient in English and ideally Dutch
- Have experience with quantitative (data) analysis and/or modelling
- Are familiar with (part of) the energy system
- Are passionate about sustainability and the energy transition
- Enjoy solving complex, abstract challenges
- Communicate clearly and work well in a team setting
