What inspired you to pursue a career at Quintel?
I like solving puzzles, and it gives me energy to work in a sector I really care about. I was also drawn to Quintel's open-source approach and the opportunity to learn across the full stack.
If an alien looked at the state of the earth as it is now, what would they think?
Probably something like, “Wow, these humans really like making things complicated!” Humans are both sophisticated and unpredictable. An alien would probably be eager to keep their distance!
What is one thing about your job that people struggle to understand?
How we manage the complexity of the energy transition. It's a wicked problem, which can be easy to dismiss as 'too convoluted'. A model is always in some sense a simplification of reality, but breaking the problem down into smaller, more manageable parts can help us to understand the whole.
